I Believe

Lately I've been seeing a lot of people create a post of all (or some) things that they believe in and I find that it's an interesting way to get to know someone. So of course, I'm deciding to jump on the "I Believe" post bandwagon and post some of mine! Hopefully this will help you find some stuff out about me that you already didn't know!

I believe in true love and romance.
The world can't go round without it and I feel like love is what truly brings out the best in someone.

I don't believe that there are perfect people out in this world but I do believe that there is that imperfectly perfect someone out there for you.

I believe that family should always come first.

I believe honesty and sometimes silence is the best policy.

I believe there is good in everyone.

I believe there is a soulmate for everyone.

I believe that people should concentrate more on what they can do rather than what they can't do.

I believe in God.

I believe what goes around comes around in good and bad situations.

I believe there is always gold in something shitty.

I believe you should stop and put yourself in someone's shoes before you judge.

I believe that you must love yourself before you can love anyone else.

I believe you should listen more than you speak.

I believe you should live spontaneously.

Memory Lane

Let's go back to the time where we just cruised around town with the windows down and sang our favorite songs....

Those times when you'd rush to get me home before my curfew and I'd lay my head in your lap while the crisp fall air would seep through the windows and John Mayer songs would surround us..

Times when I'd knock on your window to wake you up and you'd let me in and we'd just cuddle all day.

That first date when you took me to Midori and you had never eaten sushi before and didn't know how to eat it...you were so adorable. That day is when I truly fell in love with you...

That time when you called me to come outside of my cousins house and officially asked me to be yours followed by a kiss that gave me chills throughout my whole body.

When you rushed after the homecoming dance to come see me and we just talked, you leaned up against the car and we made out like the crazy teenagers in love.

When what seemed like every weekend we'd go to our favorite restaurant, La Margarita, and order the same thing that by the 3rd time they didn't even give us menus anymore and immediately had our food for us.

That one snow day senior year when walking to your car you totally decked me in the face with a huge snowball and I couldn't even get mad at you cause of that smile of yours...

Our powder puff game senior year when I completely bulldozed that girl and got the flag and you ran out to the field and picked me up and was so proud of my killer Linebacker skills

That time when I made a romantic little picnic at the canals in Las Colinas and you were so surprised and instead of going out after we just decided to go snuggle up in bed and watch movies all night

That one time when we were watching a movie and we both were knocked out cold and woke up at 3 in the morning and were frantically trying to get me home so my parents wouldn't kill the BOTH of us!

When you had your first plane ride ever with me on our way to Florida and you were so scared...it's okay you can admit it ;)

That time when you met my biological father...no other guy or friend has ever met him...You know I love you if that happened...

When at Cherie's wedding you danced with me and totally booty danced on my aunt...highlight of my life!

That little talk we had in your dads truck before we walked into our high school graduation...

Two words...TRASH DESERT

That time you almost beat up some asian guy at the Mike Posner concert cause he was about to elbow me with how crazy he was dancing

Going to our high school prom, you all dressed up and looking so handsome. Both of us nominated for prom king and queen and although we didn't win, you were still my king for the night and you will always be forever...

When we used to go to the driving range on the daily cause that was our new little hobby

When you made a huge poster saying 'I love you' and left it on my car along with flowers just because...

When I was helping you pack for your big move to San Antonio and I tried to put a smile on my face but wanted to break down crying almost every second of the day

When you got your first tattoo and and out of everyone you chose me to be there to experience it with you

When you got your motorcycle and I was terrified but then seeing the joy it brought you eased my mind and let me accept the fact that it might be just a little dangerous

I love you Anthony Allbritton. Always have and always will...I can't wait to make more memories with you. My heart is yours, forever.

Never Forget

I remember what I was doing and where I was when the terrorists attacked the World Trade Center. I was in 4th grade and enjoying my time in P.E. when I was called down to the front office. I was told to get all of my things and my mother was waiting to take me home. I was so confused because I couldn't think of any doctors appointments or family events...as I walked into the front office I was suddenly surrounded by a room full of crying parents, all trying to get their children out of school. My mom was trying to hold back her tears while grabbing my hand and walking out the door. I could tell she's been crying for a while by looking at her red swollen face. I was totally clueless and as a little girl and seeing my mother cry terrified me a bit. She was griping my hand tight the whole way home. As soon as I walked into the house I saw my grandma, aunt and uncle surrounding the television and then there it was, the towers were crashing down right in front of my eyes. I was in shock and as a 4th grader I couldn't fully grip what was going on but I knew that it wasn't good. Tears and weeping were surrounding me. I remember they were also worried about my grandfather who worked for the government in downtown Dallas. Anything could happen...was his building next? As soon as they evacuated his building he immediately showed up, thank God. Everything after that is a blur to me but as 9/11 creeps around each year I always remember that moment.

My heart goes out to all of the families who have lost their loved ones in this tragic attack. I can only imagine the hurt that they were feeling at that very moment or even as the anniversary comes around each year. Let's take the time to be thankful for the brave fire fighters and remember all of the lives that were taken from us that day. It's amazing to see how such a corrupt and tragic event could bring us Americans even closer together. We are one and together we will never forget! Today we are all New Yorker's. God bless America.

Evolution Of Love

Yesterday I was talking to Anthony and we were doing our biweekly discussion of when we'll see each other next and after talking for a while we figured out that the next time we'll be able to see each other again is in...4 WEEKS! Seriously, I just about died. Our schedules conflict so much and sometimes it gets so tough to pick out a right time to visit one another! Honestly, all I wanna do is cry but I know that's not going to help anything and there's only so much crying I can do. Being away from the best friend/love of your life has to be one of the hardest things ever but we make it work. When you truly love someone no distance or time can separate you and it won't ever break your bond or love for one another. So as I was moping around and going through my iPhoto I never realized I had so many photos of us. It's crazy looking at all the pictures from when we were friends, our first couple of dates, trips we've taken, etc... they show how much we've grown and it's so weird to see the evolution of our love. Here are a few that I found going through my photos...

He was my date to cheerleading banquet Junior year!

Here we were at cheer camp the summer right before senior year! We were just friends at this time but he came up and supported us! Who would've known we'd be dating 4 months later?

Here We Go Once Again

Clearly I love to abandon my blog and not update but as I always say, I promise to keep up with it from now on! Lately I've been wrapped up in my studies and boring adult responsibilities that I've had barley any time for myself or my hobbies! Let's have a recap of all the days or should I say weeks that I've been gone...

Labor Day weekend I made another drive to good ole San Antonio to visit Anthony! That drive gives me serious back and butt pains but well worth the pain and drive! So, if you follow me on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram then you know that Anthony finally got his Harley Davidson motorcycle that he's been yearning for! I guess you can say I nearly had a heart attack when I found out but at the same time wanted to be happy and support his likings and new hobby of riding. At first I hated the idea of him on a motorcycle but then I began to warm up to the idea once I saw that huge smile on his face when he was cruising around town. Anthony is probably one of the most responsible people I know and that's one of the reasons I'm feeling a little at ease about the whole thing. Also, his dad has been riding for years and years and so I know he'll be mentored by one of the best! Not saying that I'm 100% okay with the motorcycle but I'm at least at a 60% and that's better than nothing, right?

The rest of the weekend we just spent most of our time watching some football, chowing down on wings and enjoying each others company. I overall had the best Labor Day weekend! Now let's fast forward through the boring work and school sched this week and talk about this past weekend! My best friend Jordan came back in town this weekend and I was so happy I could cry! Friday we went to go watch her little bro play football for Mac Arthur and we definitely caught a little bit of nostalgia of our old cheerleading days and wanted to do it all over again! Time really does fly by! Then Saturday of course I worked all day, nothing new, and later that night I caught a little bit of the Texas game at my aunt's and then made my way out with some friends I made from Zumba! We had dinner at Blue Fish and then hopped on a party bus to Mambo Cafe and salsa danced the night away! Sunday was definitely recovery day and after getting about 3 hours of sleep I had a very relaxing 6 hour nap!

Overall, the past two weekends have been total success! Now I'm in class, back on my grind and getting things done! I hope everyone has a great school/work week!

Catch Up

So lately I've been MIA, I know, but I've been so unmotivated with the everything and since I can't seem to get any sleep right now let's play catch up!

Let's start with this last Thursday, shall we? Thursday was a typical work day. Short shift, but still such a drag. My plan for the night was just to hit the gym, watch the olympics, and catch up on my sleep but of course nothing goes according to plan. My friend Livia convinced me to hit up Red River that night and although I was a little hesitant I still decided to get out and go! We went with my friend Danitzza and of course had a great time! We ended up bumping into some friends and it was so exciting getting to see some familiar faces that I haven't seen in what seems like forever! Let's just say I had a little too much fun on this girls night and had a hard time waking up the next morning.

Then Friday...like I said it was hard to get up and I was nearly late for work. I hardly made it throughout the day!

Saturday was my cousin Cherie's baby shower! Yay! I was so excited to see all my family and some friends of the family that I haven't seen in a while! We did the typical games, eat, and presents and then when most of the guests left, of course our family turned this baby shower into a dance party. So cue the music, dim the lights and let's start dancing the night away! We all didn't end up leaving till nearly 11:30 and we were all there since 1. The next day I had work and it was awful. 7-5 shift with absolutely nothing to do will drive you crazy!

Now let's fast forward a bit...

Wednesday I finally get to see Anthony! There are no words to express how excited I am to see him! It's been a long, dreadful month since I've seen him and it feels like an eternity! This is my last little get away before I start school again on the 27th so I plan on fully relaxing and having a great time the whole trip! These are the times long distance is pure bliss. The times when you've been longing to see the one you love and when the day gets closer you get those butterflies in your tummy and get unbelievably anxious! I get butterflies regardless but I get them 100x more when we've gone a long time without seeing each other!

I should probably be getting some sleep considering I have work in the AM! Until next time...

Writers Block

Ridiculous! Just started this blog and I already have writers block? I officially blame summer school for frying my brain. However, I did find this survey off of Madison Harrington's blog (http://madisonclaireharrington.blogspot.com)! A little "get to know me" kind. Perfect! Read a little and get to know a little bit more about me!

1. What is your middle name? Elise. Given to me after my great grandmother's name Elisa.

2. What are you passionate about? LOVE. I'm obsessed with love! Everyone should experience true love! It can truly bring out the best in you!

3. Zebra or leopard print? Leopard

4. Do you have any fears? Tons. Who doesn't? Being alone. Haunted houses. Snakes. The dark...yes I said it...I'm 20 and afraid of the dark.

5. Silver or gold? I like both but of course it depends on what you're wearing but as for engagement/wedding rings...silver all the way.

6. Top three places to visit. Bora Bora, because the water is so clear and everything is absolutely beautiful there. Paris, because like I said I'm obsessed with love and I must go to the infamous city of love. Greece...every time I see the movie Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants I crave to be there!

7. How many siblings do you have? Two baby sisters. Allie, 5 and Ava, 3.

8. Where are you from? Born and raised a Dallas girl

9. First career you wanted as a child. Believe it or not, since I was 5 and my grandfather gave me my own journal, I've wanted to be a writer. I would write about anything and everything. Surprisingly, I still want to have writing in my life. PR requires a lot of writing and I'm glad they started me at a young age!

10. What’s your sign? Aries

11. Future names of your children. Like every girl, I've had my baby names set out since high school but I won't dare share them with anyone! Sorry :)

12. Do you have any pets? Yes! I have a 2 year old Lab named Jasper!

13. What are you listening to right now? Empire Girls on TV

14. Do you believe in fate/destiny? I believe in the unexpected somehow being exactly what you needed.

15. What are your career goals? I aspire to work for a Public Relations agency or become an event planner, and hopefully one day have my own PR/event planning business!

16. What is your favorite color? I've always loved red and pistachio green. But lately I've been into purples and mint green!

17. What is your favorite flower? I absolutely love hydrangeas and lilies

18. What was the first concert/show you attended? BRITNEY SPEARS when I was 9!

19. Something you are working on right now. This survey...

20. Have you ever had a near-death experience? When I was younger I had to have an expander on the roof of my mouth and my mom and I went out to a mexican restaurant...long story short I was scarfing down a tortilla and it got stuck in my expander and I was choking...so funny now but it was terrifying at the time

21. Are you a procrastinator or do you get things done early? Depends on the task at hand.

22. Left or right handed? Righty

23. TV Shows you watch regularly. Right now I'm really into Single Ladies, Empire Girls, Miss Advised and The Real Housewives of New Jersey/New York

24. Where do you work? Vaquero Country Club

25. Halloween costume idea for this year? It's still summer...not really thinking about halloween right now

26. What is your relationship status? In a relationship of almost 3 years!

27. Last movie you just watched. How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days...never gets old!

28. Your best friend’s name. Jordan Jenkins! Love this girl to pieces and so sad that she's leaving me for Tech in 2 days! :(

29. A song that’s been stuck in your head. Paradise by Cold Play. "Para...para...paradiseee"

30. A book you want to read/have recently read. I so want to jump on the bandwagon for 50 Shades Of Grey. I've heard nothing but good things about the trilogy!

BFF

Soooo today I pretty much spent the whole day with Jordan. Not complaining! Trying to fit in as much BFF time before she leaves me for dirty old Lubbock :( She saw this cool yet simple craft on Pinterest and decided we should try it! You get any color/type of mug and decorate them with sharpies. After you're done with the creative business, you set your oven to 350 degrees and put the mugs inside the oven and leave them there for 30 minutes. You do this so that the sharpie will sink into the mug and won't fade away over time.

We decided that for our first mugs we should design each others...leave a little note or picture so that when we are apart we can always have a little piece of one another. Cheese balls I know but I'm so bummed that I'll now have two long distance relationships (boyfriend & best friend)...I know I'll probably see them often but stillllllll...

Okay now that I'm done being Sensitive Sally, we can put all the sentimental business aside and get to the fun stuff! We started getting goofy with some quotes and drawings on our mugs and let me just say this craft night was a success! May I point out that the mugs were $1 and we already had the sharpies so this was crazy cheap and so fun! Not to mention she just got a cheap yet original set of mugs for her new house at Tech!

Of course we had to fit food into the equation and we made our way to Sonic for happy hour drinks and delicious yet incredibly unhealthy food. OH MY GOSH and how could I possibly forget! Jordan "krumped" for me y'all! Probably one of the funniest things I have ever seen in my whole entire life. I was literally rolling on the ground with tears coming out of my eyes! I would so post the video I got of her but she'd kill me...maybe I'll sneak it on here later ;) Oh how I'm going to miss her!

She made me the green mug and I made her the blue

"You smell like pine needles and have a face like sunshine!!!"

Her note to me :')

My attempt to draw us together...clearly I'm an artist

Send Out a 911, We're Gonna Have Some Fun

This past Friday Jordan, Heather, Danitzza, and I had a GNO! The night didn't exactly go accordingly to plan but when does it ever? We still had a great night out and laughed practically the whole night! We were wanting to go to S4 since some of the girls have never been but that was a bust. Somehow we made our way over to OPM which wouldn't be my first choice of places to go but of course I'm down for whatever and along for the ride! After walking in and seeing the hideous atmosphere and selection of people we were kind of dumbfounded but honestly we were so over trying to find somewhere to go that we just dealt and decided to make a great night out of it. We made fools of ourselves while dancing like obnoxious idiots and ended up having a surprisingly good time! By 1:30 we decided it was time to head out and of course made our last detour of the night to the infamous...WHATABURGER! I had no shame in ordering the whata-size meal and devouring every single bit of it! Then I'm sure you know what happens after that...*KNOCKS OUT*

This song has been stuck in my head all day! With ACL around the corner it's getting me too excited for the lineup and of course Childish Gambino is gonna be performing!

Close One Chapter And Begin Another

I feel like I should clean out the closet and start completely fresh with blogging. My goal for this blog is to keep it throughout my twenties and document everything I possibly can that goes on in my life during these years. This is an appropriate time considering I just turned 20 a couple of months ago, don't ya think?

A brief of what I've been up to since I left my previous blog last...I've been so consumed with work and school and have had no time to do anything it seems like. Isn't it supposed to be summer? Time for a break? Not for this gal. Summer and freedom aren't even words in my dictionary at this point. Luckily, summer 2 ends next Thursday. HALLELUJAH!

Shortly after that, I have a few things coming up! Next Saturday is Cherie's baby shower for baby Charlize! Words cannot describe how anxious and excited I am for this baby to get here! The first cousin is having a baby and although I'll just be a second cousin to the little nugget, I almost feel like I'm going to be an aunt because we are all so incredibly close! I'm just gathering the most adorable pink baby items I can find! I absolutely love babies!

Then after what will seem like the longest week ever, I'll finally get to see my love Anthony after almost a month! Everyone asks how I do it and all I have to say is it's one of the hardest thing to do but he is definitely worth every second of waiting! So in love and so ready to see him!

Welp! There you have it! Nothing too spectacular for my first post but it's a start to a journey of some of the best years of my life! Hope you're ready and tag along for the ride!
